The 987.2 Boxster is a real sweet spot for affordable convertible sports cars. Being the facelift generation, it has fresh styling as well as most importantly the revised IMS bearing, which helps give the 2.9 engine in the 987.2 a reputation for being a really solid reliable unit. Paired up with the manual gearbox and aftermarket exhaust system, this really is a phenomenal and very rewarding driver's car.

It even has very reasonable running costs for the calibre of car that it is, with an official combined MPG of 30.1, and from driving the car around 400 miles we have found that on a run even into the mid 30's is quite achievable.
